Shuvalov-Zhang Gaoli committee to consider new projects at SPIEF - Deputy Economic Development Minister Voskresensky

MOSCOW, June 17/ TASS / The Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on investment will consider a number of new investment projects during the June 18 meeting during the St.Petersberg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) said Tass Deputy Economic Development Minister Stanislav Voskresensky. The Commission was established in 2014 as part of the Russian federal economic cooperation strategy with China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov is the co-chairman from the Russian side, while Deputy Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli represents the Chinese side. Currently, the commission is curating 32 projects, including the creation of a joint Russian-Chinese company for leasing Sukhoi Superjet planes, as well as the timber cluster in Tomsk region, and a project for the mining of gold and other minerals. "Our partners handed us 15 more projects this week, for joint implementation, they range from agriculture, industry processing to mining," Voskresensky said. "We are closely examining them and possibly, at the St.Petersburg Forum, we will come out with a list of projects that will be curated by the government commission" said Voskresensky, who also heads the government working group to promote the interests of Russia in the Asia-Pacific region. The next meeting will take place on June 18, in St. Petersburg. The first documents for the commission were signed on May 8, during the official visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow.
