Singapore-Thai military drills successfully end

BANGKOK, February 26 (TNA) - This year's joint military exercises between Singapore and Thailand, under the code name "Kocha Singa 2016", have successfully ended. Visiting Singapore Army Chief Brigadier-General Melvyn Ong Su Kiat and his Thai counterpart General Teerachai Nakwanich jointly presided over the closing ceremony of the "Kocha Singa 2016" drills at a tactical training field of the 3rd Army Area Command in Sukhothai Province in the Lower Thai North on Friday morning. The "Kocha Singa 2016" joint military drills were organised from February 12 to 26, during which Singapore and Thai troops benefited from learning from each other and sharing experiences not only in military practices, but also in cultures and traditions, aimed to promote and strengthen sound relations between Singapore and Thai soldiers and the two countries armies. The two-week "Kocha Singa 2016" joint drills comprise of the Cross Training Exercise (CTX) at 10 training centres during February 18-21 at the Wachira Prakarn Military Camp in Tak Province in the Lower Thai North and the Field Training Exercise (FTX) during February 23-26 at the tactical training field of the 3rd Army Area Command in Sukhothai.
