Sino-Thai military drills end

CHANTABURI, THAILAND, June 7 (TNA) - China and Thailand have concluded their joint military exercises, under the code name "Blue Strike 2016", in the Thai East. Jointly presiding over the closing ceremony, held at the Royal Thai Navy’s training field in the eastern Chantaburi Province on Tuesday, were Deputy Commander of the Chinese Navy Rear Admiral Wang Hai and Commander of Thai Marines Vice Admiral Rattana Wongsaroj. A total of 228 Chinese military personnel and 295 Thai marines participated in the joint Sino-Thai military exercises, which began on May 22. China’s participating troops are scheduled to leave a Thai port in nearby Chon Buri Province on June 10. The just concluded third joint Sino-Thai military exercises were aimed at promoting friendship and cooperation between Chinese and Thai navies, as well as boosting capabilities of military personnel participating in the "Blue Strike 2016".
