Situation at Hat Yai Airport returns to normal, after heavy fog

SONGKHLA, THAILAND, June 6 (TNA) - The situation at Hat Yai International Airport in Songkhla Province in the Thai South has returned to normal with flights operating as usual, after heavy fog, caused by moisture happening from heavy rain in the area on Friday, temporarily disrupted aviation services there. Two commercial flights of Thai Smile Airways and the Thai AirAsia, both are budget airlines, which departed Bangkok and were scheduled to land at Hat Yai International Airport at 7:40am and 8am respectively, were unable to land at the airport because thick fog had covered the runway. The pilots of the planes were, thus, forced to fly over the sky for about 15 minutes before the planes could eventually land safely after the sky became clear. (TNA)
