Six one-stop service registration centres for migrant workers in Bangkok open Tuesday

BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) - Six one-stop service centres in Bangkok, designed for facilitating migrant workers in registering themselves, will be open this Tuesday until August 14, said Sumet Mahosot, director-general of Labour Ministry’s Employment Department. All the six centres, to be manned by 10 officials at each centre, will be open following the order of the National Council for Peace and Order. Mr. Sumet said he expected that at least 1,000 migrant workers would register at each centre during the entire period, enabling them to work legally and receive benefits like Thai workers. Expressing satisfaction, Mr. Sumet said about 60,000 migrant workers have already registered at eight one-stop service centres nationwide. The one-stop service office operates daily. (TNA)
