Smuggling of Siamese Rosewood logs foiled

NAKHON PHANOM, March 14 (TNA) - Siamese rosewood logs, worth over a hundred of thousand baht, have been seized by Thai authorities here, before being smuggled to China. The authorities on Wednesday raided a warehouse situated at Baan Pang district near the Mekong River and then seized the 13 Siamese rosewood logs, 2-3 metres long and 20-30 centimetres wide each. The operation followed a tip-off that the timbers would be smuggled to a neighbouring country, believed to be China. An official investigation is continuing in order to find the owner of the timbers for being prosecuted. (TNA)
