Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Confiscate 48 Kg Of Hashish

Tangerang, Banten, April 17 (Antara) - Soekarno-Hatta international airport police nabbed a man and seized 48 kg of hashish at the airport`s Terminal 3, a police officer said here on Thursday. Commissioner Guntur M Thariq, the chief of the airport police`s narcotic investigation unit, said the arrest was conducted following a tip off from the public about illicit drug transactions at the parking area of the Soekanor-Hatta airport`s terminal. The airport police later deployed a disguised police officer to buy hashish from illicit drug courier identified by his initial as DO. After detaining DO, the police managed to seize 12 kg of hashish and three grams of crystal methamphetamine in Srengseng, West Jakarta. Later, 36 kg of hashish were confiscated and two persons identified by their initials as ND and TU were arrested. The police shot TU at his right leg because he tried to escape. The airport police suspected that the hashish came from Aceh and the three arrested people had been assisted by some other people. The police are still developing the investigation.
