Solar farm to boost energy security in Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT, Dec 3 (TNA) - The Energy Ministry will install solar cell panels in a university and a hospital in Narathiwat to promote energy security in the South. The new system will also act as the electricity backup in case of violence in the South, said Twarath Sutabutr, director-general of the Ministry’s energy Policy and Planning Office. The Ministry therefore funds Princess of Naradhiwas University to install solar cell panels, which could produce 1500 kilowatts for a hospital, a college and other offices under the supervision of the university. The installation of a solar farm and solar rooftop panels, which will begin next year, will help save electricity cost of over eight million baht per year. (TNA)
