Somalia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador of Qatar Place Cornerstone of Diplomatic Institute Project

Mogadishu, August 19 (QNA) - HE Somalia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Eissa Awad and HE Qatar's Ambassador Hassan bin Hamza Hashim placed Sunday the cornerstone of the project to build the diplomatic institute, which is financed by Qatar Fund for Development. The project is one of many developmental ones offered by the State of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Somalia, signed in November and worth $200 million. The Somalian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the institute will contribute to graduating diplomats who work for advancing their country. He noted that the institute will work on developing a diplomatic culture. His Excellency also thanked the State of Qatar for supporting the project. For his part, HE the Ambassador said that the project is the first in a group of developmental projects offered by the State of Qatar to Somalia. His Excellency stressed that the other project will launch in the near future. Today's ceremony was attended by a number of ranking officials in Somalia. (QNA)
