Some 870 foreigners deported from Mongolia in first half year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Immigration Agency reported Monday that 875 illegal foreigners from 19 countries have been deported from Mongolia in first half of this year. This is an increase of 6.6 times or 743 people compared to the same period of the previous year. The Immigration Agency carries out planned and unplanned investigations into the illegal residents by the information given from people. Within the latest regular investigation, the deported people had violated laws of Mongolia, for example, they entered the Mongolian territory with counterfeit documents, exceeded the time limit of residence, carried out activities which are not reflected in the programme of actions and employed without permission. By the first half of 2013, fines of 352 million 477 thousand and 600 togrog have been imposed upon 2,008 people at 363 entities invested from both Mongolia and foreign countries. Moreover, fines of MNT 124 million 855 thousand and 200 have been imposed upon foreigners from 26 countries. These measures were taken in accordance with the law on legal status of foreign citizen and the rule on deporting foreigners adopted by the #339 resolution of government.
