Songkhla to use mobile CCTVs to increase local security

SONGKHLA, April 25 (TNA) -- Security agencies in the Thai southernmost province of Songkhla have continued to beef up security against local violent attacks by planning to upgrade the province's CCTV system. Hat Yai Volunteer Defense Corps task force has joined forces with Hat Yai Provincial Police to step up security measures in the province to ensure safety for the business district, as violence continued to plague the three southernmost provinces daily. Meanwhile, the insurgent groups still see many days during the last week of April as important symbolic representations, prompting security officials to beef up safety measures since the Songkran festival. More patrols in the city area have been organised, where authorities would meet up with vendors to reiterate the importance for everyone to help by keeping a look out for anything suspicious, while the city's CCTV system must be inspected to make sure that all are in working order. Chairman of the Songkhla Provincial Administration Organisation (PAO) Niphon Boonyamanee said the Songkhla PAO office is currently mobilising two mobile CCTV vehicles to help increase security in the area. He said all of the over 400 CCTV cameras installed in the area have clear and sharp footage to ensure that the criminals behind all illegal acts which happen in the area could be tracked and caught.
