Songkran Festival parade set to start in Bangkok

BANGKOK, April 8 (TNA) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is ready to officially kick off the Amazing Songkran 2017 festival this evening with the processions to be held in the heart of Bangkok. The Amazing Songkran 2017 festival, scheduled to take place today at 6pm. on Sukhumvit Road, is aimed to allow tourists to experience the Thai-life style and tradition. The 5-kilometre long parade will begin at Prompong intersection and ends in Pathumwan intersection. The parade will be divided into six parts, featuring the symbol of the Amazing 2017 Sognkran Festival, the legend of the Songkran Goddess, traditions of five regions and unique local cars from across the country such as Tuk Tuk tricycles.
