Southern flooding

YALA, Nov 27 (TNA) - Flooding remains critical in many southern provinces. Many rivers are overflowing and affecting communities, orchards and roads and many people have gone missing. In Yala province, flooding continues on the second day due to persistent rain. Sai Buri and Pattani rivers overflow to rubber plantations, orchards and villages in six districts namely Raman, Yaha, Bannang Sata, Kabang, Than To and Muang Yala. Officials used backhoes to widen waterways to quickly drain floodwater on Yala-Raman Road into the Pattani River. Yala is receiving water from the Sai Buri River in Yi Ngo district of Narathiwat province. Riverside communities are 1.30 meters under water. Officials are giving initial aid to victims. One person was reportedly drowned while fishing. (TNA)
