Southern trains to resume tomorrow after fatal blast

SONGKHLA, Sept 11 (TNA) - The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) conducted the first trial run of a train in three southern border provinces today before the full service will resume tomorrow following the bombing on the track in Pattani last week. Wuthichart Kalyanamitra, SRT governor and local security officer launched the first ride of the train to Sungai Kolok from Hat Yai station after repair of the railway track, damaged by the bombing had been completed. The explosion, killing one railroad worker and injuring three people, led to suspension of the train services on a route between Hat Yai in Songkhla and Sungai Kolok in Narathiwat for eight days. The suspended train services, however, are set to resume tomorrow. (TNA)
