Speaker receives Japanese ambassador

Manama, May 16 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, has stressed Bahrain’s keenness on strengthening its distinguished relations with Japan in various fields, including the investment, economic and parliamentary fields. Al-Mulla lauded the depth of the Bahraini-Japanese relations and joint cooperation, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Emperor Akihito of Japan. Speaking as he received here recently the newly-appointed Japanese Ambassador Bahrain, Hideki Ito, in the presence of MP, Mohammed Al-Jowdar, the speaker also hailed the two friendly countries’ joint keenness on achieving growth, prosperity, security and stability in the region. He stressed that Bahraini-Japanese cooperation will be bolstered in various sectors as a result of parliamentary support, praising Japan’s key international role, the depth of relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Japan, and Japan’s stances in support of Bahrain. The Japanese envoy lauded the progress boom currently witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming his desire to develop joint cooperation.
