Speaker warns against the terror scourge

Manama, May 25 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has today urged the Arabs and the international community to combat terrorism. He stressed the importance of joining efforts in the Arab Parliament (AP) and other international organisations to confront of the scourge of terrorism which is threatening all countries and peoples. "Terrorist organisations are receiving internal and foreign support to fuel sectarian-tainted strife, kill innocent people and sow mayhem", he said as he received AP Secretary-General Dr. Abdulnasser Janahi, in the presence of MPs Adel Al-Asoomi and Abdulrahman Boumjeed. The speaker warned against the scourge of terrorism which, he said, represents the biggest challenge that threatens democracy and development in the region, stressing the necessity of combating terrorist groups by all security and legal means. The meeting focused on bolstering cooperation between the Council of Representatives and the Arab Parliament.
