State Defense Minister Holds Series of Meetings

Doha, January 28 (QNA) - HE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah met here on Wednesday with Dutch Chief of Defense General Tom Middendorp and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Qatar. The meeting focused on ways to promote relations between the two countries in addition to topics of common interest, particularly regional developments. HE Maj. Gen. Al Attiyah also met with Vice Adm. (RET.) Andy Winns, Lockheed Martin Corporation regional president for the Middle East and North Africa. During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between Qatari Armed Forces and Lockheed Martin Corporation. HE Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Air Vice-Marshal Ghanim bin Shaheen Al-Ghanim was present at both meetings. In addition, HE Al Attiyah held a meeting with International Handball Federation (IHF) President Dr. Hassan Moustafa, currently on a visit to Qatar to attend the 24th World Handball Championship (Qatar 2015). Moustafa extended thanks to HE Al Attiyah for the armed forces' contribution in organizing the tournament. The meeting was attended by a number of senior army officers. (QNA)
