State Enterprises Officials Should Travel Economy Class

Jakarta, Nov 6 (Antara) - State Enterprises Minister Rini M. Soemarno has encouraged state-owned enterprises officials and board of directors to fly economy class during their official trips. "They should fly economy class without exception. I will soon send instruction letters to all state-owned enterprises officials and board of directors," Rini noted at the State Enterprises Ministry office here on Wednesday evening. Rini emphasized that her call for state-owned enterprises officials and board of directors to fly economy class during their official trips will help to improve the budget efficiency of state-owned companies. "The officials at both the central and regional governments should opt for economy class to prevent any extravagance," Rini remarked. The minister explained that she flew economy class when she visited Medan, North Sumatra, on Tuesday, to inspect the public-listed company, PT Inalum. "Traveling in economy class and business class on a flight is just the same, and they arrive at the same time, after all," Rini added.
