STATE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE MINISTRY MEETS US GENERAL

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The State Secretary of Mongolia’s Ministry of Defense Major-General Z.Boldbaatar met last week Brigadier-General CJ Mahoney, the Deputy commander of the US Marine Corps Forces in the Pacific. The U.S. delegation led by the Brigadier-General is taking part in the "Khaan Quest-2015" international military exercises for peacekeeping operations, which kicked off June 20 at the "Five Hills" field. The State Secretary said Mongolia maintains peaceful, multilateral and open foreign policy, co-existing peacefully with others, and emphasized that the Mongolian Armed Forces and the U.S. Military Command of Marine Corps Forces are co-organizing these military exercises 9th year together with the Global Peace Initiatives (GPI). This year’s exercises have increased a number of peacekeepers, raised the capability of peacekeeping operations of the Armed Forces of the participant nations, and strengthened the military trust and security in Asia-Pacific, Boldbaatar said.
