A Student Drowns In Banten's Manuk Island Waters

Lebak, Banten, Dec 23 (Antara) - The search and rescue workers on Tuesday continued their efforts to find a junior high school student who drowned in the Manuk Island waters of Lebak District, Banten Province, on Sunday. A number of police and army personnel, assisted by local residents, have begun their search operation to find Akbar, local police spokesman, Chief Brig. Fitara Harianja said. The 15-year-old student of Cikotok SMP I state junior high school was dragged by the strong current of Manuk Island waters when swimming with his school mates on Sunday. The search and rescue efforts were not easy as a result of strong winds and high waves. "We hope we can find Akbar`s body if the weather is normal to day," he said.
