STUDENTS COMPETE AT FLASH MOB

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A flash mob contest was held among university students on the Chinggis Square on June 5, in celebration of the World Environment Day. The winner was the ‘Nomads’ team of the Culture and Art University, followed by ‘N.U.M’ of the National University of Mongolia, and Clowns team of ‘UB Dance’ school. Organized by the Environment and Green Development Ministry and Mongolian Students Union, the event has become a broad platform for public outreach that encourages awareness and action for the environment, gathering some 300 students from national high education institutes. The contest will later be broadcast in UBS TV, the information sponsor of the event. World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nations Environment Program. The 2014 theme for World Environment Day focused on "Small Islands and Climate Change", the official slogan for the year 2014 was "Raise Your Voice Not the Sea Level".
