Students of Stanford University to study Azerbaijani music

Washington, April 17 (AzerTAc). Courses of Azerbaijani music and culture have been launched at the Music Faculty of Stanford University since April 2013. According to the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, the courses called "Music of the Land of Fire" are the first courses dedicated to the study of Azerbaijani music in the history of the University. Kemanchist Imamyar Hasanov, living in San Francisco, will conduct the courses. Students will become familiar with the rich musical culture of Azerbaijan and learn how to perform Azerbaijani songs on kemancha and other instruments. After the courses, a concert of Azerbaijani music will be organized along with the exam. Stanford University is located near the Palo Alto city (60 km south of San Francisco), in the heart of Silicon Valley, California (USA).
