Manama, July 25 (BNA): Members of the Sudanese community residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain are participating in the one-month-long Bahrain Summer Festival - the nationwide initiative aimed to boost and consolidate Bahrain's prominent position as a leading hub of cultural tourism both regionally and internationally. The Sudanese community's participation includes folk songs, music and a photography show that documents aspects of the Sudanese ways of life, including workshops on the art of coffee-making and henna painting. Shafaq Abdel-Jaleel, the Sudanese Embassy official in charge of the cultural affairs dossier said the embassy's participation for the first time in the eighth edition of Bahrain Summer Festival comes at the invitation of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) which reflects the amicable fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples. "Lamatna" the Sudanese folklore ensemble which performed in the festival's Nakhool Tent will also perform traditional Sudanese songs and dance from eastern, northern, western and southern parts of the country, she added.
