Sudanese diplomat says Turkey, Sudan should boost relations

ISTANBUL (A.A) - The Sudanese consul general in Istanbul said on Friday that Turkey and Sudan should boost their bilateral relations. Asim Mukhtar said Sudan wanted to reflect strong political relations with Turkey on commercial relations. "We should seek ways to improve our trade opportunities and know more about each other," Mukhtar told AA correspondents. Mukhtar said there were circles that wanted Sudan to clash with its neighbors, and attacks on Sudanese people in Blue Nile and South Kordofan states were going on. "It is possible to say that these attacks are backed by some countries," Mukhtar said. Mukhtar said South Sudan administration was in an effort to set up an opponent group and weaken the government, adding that there were also several efforts to create a militia-terror structure.  (Reporting by Zemci Somuncu–Cemil Tekeli)
