Summer storms warning issued for several Thai areas

BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) - The Meteorological Department Thursday issued a latest warning on summer storms for people in Thailand's several regions from March 23-27, with those in north-eastern and eastern parts being first affected. According to the Meteorological Department's updated statement, a moderate high-pressure mass is expected to blanket Thailand’s upper parts by Thursday night and will meet with the north-easterly wind, causing thunderstorms, gusty winds and hails, initially in the north-eastern and eastern regions and later in other regions over the next five days. The weather agency said that the easterly wind is also expected to bring about thunderstorms in nearly all areas in Thailand's southern region and to cause scattered downpours in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, covering 40-60 percent of the metropolitan and adjacent areas.
