Supplementary occupation to help farmers

BANGKOK, Nov 3 (TNA) – The Department of Employment finds job vacancies for farmers to do when they are free from work in paddy fields after the harvest season. As farmers are now facing falling rice prices in the domestic and global markets, the department put in place assistance measures to help farmers, said the Department’s Director –General Singhadet Chu-amnart. The department cooperated with the Federation of Thai Industries and the Thai Chamber of Commerce and entrepreneurs to find supplementary jobs for farmers in their free time after the harvest season. Job vacancies include farm workers, housekeepers, and cloth cleaners. The Department of Skill Development will arrange training courses for farmers to seek jobs requiring special skills. (TNA)
