Survival boxed dropped into waterway for trapped boys

CHIANG RAI, June 29 (TNA) - About 20 survival boxes, containing food, water, maps, pens and mobile phones were dropped into a waterway through a chimney on the hill above the Tham Luang cave system in Chiang Rai in hope of reaching trapped boys. Message put inside the box tells them to mark their location on the map and float it out of the cave. Meanwhile, the Engineering Institute of Thailand chairman Thanes Weerasiri said that the experts in the drilling team expects that this evening they will be able to conclude the location where they will drill the cave wall. The promising locations are two spots near the fourth chamber, called "Pattaya Beach" at the end of the cave complex, where it is believed 12 young football players and their coach have been stranded. Initially, he assessed that it would take about one day to drill the cave wall at the first spot, which is about 200 metres wide to create a hole to reach the chamber. The group has been missing since Saturday while the partially flooded cave and incessant rain hinder the search operation inside the 10-km cave complex. (TNA)
