Suspect in Nakhon Si Thammarat arson arrested

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, Aug 14 (TNA) - A suspect in Friday’s arson attack at a Tesco Lotus store in Nakhon Si Thammarat was arrested yesterday but he has denied all allegations. The 32-year-old man, identified as Sakarin Karuehas, a native of Chiangmai’s Samkhamphaeng district was apprehended at an offshore oil platform in the Gulf of Thailand. He was detained for questioning at the Nakhon Si Thammarat-based Vajiravudh army camp. Pol Lt Gen Tesa Siriwatho, chief of Provincial Police Region 8, travelled from Surat Thani to interrogate the suspect. No details were disclosed after the two-hours of questioning. Meanwhile, the Tesco Lotus store in Nakhon Si Thammarat remains closed today and is scheduled to reopen tomorrow. (TNA)
