Suspected key separatist arrested in Thailand's Yala province

BANGKOK, October 20 (TNA) – Thai security forces arrested a suspected key separatist at his hideout in Raman district, Yala province, early Sunday morning. Abdulroni Madiyoh, 50, is alleged for instigating anti-government movements, recruiting separatists and ordering the murdering of Sakariya Sueri, a former assistant community head in Naket sub-district, Khok Pho district, Pattani province. Authorities said Abdulroni would remain in custody at 41st Paramilitary Ranger Regiment in the Wang Phaya Camp in Raman district for further interrogation. In Hat Yai district, Songkhla provincial governor Krissasa Boonrach called a security meeting on Sunday to discuss increasing law enforcement against untoward incidents ahead of the ninth anniversary of the Tak Bai incident, which saw eighty-five Thai Muslims killed.
