Suvarnabhumi Airport bans two taxi drivers following complaint

BANGKOK, April 19 (TNA) - Suvarnabhumi International Airport banned two taxi drivers from servicing passengers at the airport following a complaint by a Japanese expat. Koki Aki posted a message on his Facebook on Saturday saying that 11 of his friends came from Japan to Thailand on April 14 evening. They took two taxis from the airport, but the drivers refused to use the meters and overcharged them. Airport authorities contacted Mr. Aki for more details on the April 14 incident and could identify two drivers. Following questioning, the drivers admitted and their registration to operate at the airport were revoked permanently. Officials said the drivers would also face punishment from the Land Transport Department. (TNA)
