Suvarnabhumi Airport to further improve services

BANGKOK, September 29 (TNA) - Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport is further improving its services, including those for its immigration screening, baggage claims and the Internet to cope with the rising number of international passengers. Suvarnabhumi International Airport Director Somchai Sawasdipol told reporters of the plan on Friday, saying that, as part of the move, 250 more immigration officials will be on duty at the Suvarnabhumi Airport to speed up visa inspections and to reduce the process from 50 minutes per passenger to 20 minutes. Somchai acknowledged that a 15-30 minute free wi-fi service will also be available for international passengers. The Suvarnabhumi International Airport had served 48.32 million international passengers from October last year to August this year, a 9.65 per cent year-on-year increase, with a further growth of 8-9 per cent expected for the airport in 2012-2013.
