Swimming ban in Phang-nga

PHANG-NGA, Aug 8 (TNA) - Red flags have been placed to ban swimming in Phang-nga’s Khao Lak area due to high wave and strong wind.

Hotel operators have placed warning signs and prepared boats and life-saving equipment along the beaches. Staffs are patrolling the beaches to ensure safety of tourists.

Local authorities are prepared for emergency and warned local residents in at-risk areas to follow the weather update.

The meteorological department issued warning of severe weather condition with more rain and isolated heavy downpour over the country.

The strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. (TNA)
