Syrian army stages operation on Ain al-Beida village along Turkey border

HATAY (A.A) – Syrian army staged an operation on Ain al-Beida village which is near Turkey border of Syria. Witnesses, who spoke to AA correspondent, said that 2,000 soldiers and 15 tanks of Syrian army laid a siege on the village at around 5:00 a.m. today, and took the control of the village. Witnesses claimed that the army set the village on fire which has over 1,000 residents. Syrian citizens, who were injured during clashes between Syrian army and opponents, passed the border and were taken to hospitals in Turkey. Residents of Turkish border village Guvecci also confirmed that they heard artillery shooting and armed clashes since the early hours of the day. (Reporting by Samet Dogan)
