Tajikistan's Red Crescent seeks help from U.A.E.'s ERC

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan (RCST) has expressed its desire that the Red Crescent (ERC) of U.A.E. support major healthcare, water and other infrastructure projects for a number of remote villages and areas in the Central Asian country. Possible charity and humanitarian work by ERC in Tajikistan would ease the suffering of a large number of poor families, said Secretary-General of RCST, Zafar Muhabbatov, as he met with ERC's Deputy Secretary-General for Support Service, Mohammed Youssef Al Fahim, during a visit to the U.A.E. aid agency's head office Abu Dhabi. Mr Muhabbatov said he was confident that ERC will extend a helping hand to the Tajik aid agency in his country's underdeveloped areas. During the meeting, the two sides discussed common humanitarian issues such as the mobilisation of efforts to help the underprivileged and the victims of conflicts and disasters around the world. Mr. Al Fahim expressed ERC's interest in forging humanitarian partnerships with Tajikistan's Red Crescent and all international humanitarian agencies as part of its mission statement. – Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates-international/1395268661224.html
