TAT lets second-tier provinces’ vendors meet tourism-related operators

BANGKOK, Sept 14 (TNA) -- The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organizes the Thailand Village Tourism Trade Meet 2018 to introduce vendors from 54 communities in second-tier tourist destination provinces to leading tourism-related operators in order to promote the provinces. TAT deputy governor Noppadon Pakprot said the meeting was the first of its kind where vendors from second-tier provinces met leading tourism-related operators and the TAT organized the event in order to increase the percentage of visitors to such provinces from 30% to 35% and reduce the percentage of tourists to main destination provinces to 65% from 70%. In the meeting, vendors from 54 second-tier destinations would present their products and tourism-related operators could have first-hand experiences in the attractions of second-tier destinations, he said. The TAT invited to the meeting buyers from organizations, companies and hotels as well as bloggers and webmasters of tourism-related online pages. The TAT expected second-tier provinces would generate 12% of overall tourism-related income worth 2.2 trillion baht this year, Mr Noppadon said. (TNA)
