Teams from 36 countries to participate in 2019 International Army Games - Russian defense minister

MOSCOW, July 16. /TASS/. The 2019 International Army Games will take place at 25 firing ranges, involving over 200 teams from 36 countries, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday. "I would like to say a few words about the Fifth International Army Games scheduled to take place on August 3-17," he said at the Defense Ministry’s conference call. "The event will be unprecedented in scale. More than 200 teams from 36 countries will demonstrate their professional skills during the Games," the Russian defense minister added. Shoigu pointed to the growing number of countries willing to host the Games’ segments. "This year, the Games will take place at 25 firing ranges in ten countries," he noted. The Russian defense minister was confident that the 2019 International Army Games "will not only contribute to improving combat training but will also help strengthen the ties of friendship and mutual understanding between military servicemen."
