Tehran cinematheque to screen four international acclaimed short film

TEHRAN,Sept.23(MNA) -- Four Iranian short films, which have previously been acclaimed at international events, are scheduled to be reviewed today during a session at the cinematheque of the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran. “Needle” and “When the Kid Was a Kid” by Anahita Ghazvinizadeh and “Duet” and “The Wind Carries Me Wherever It Wants” by Navid Danesh will also be screened during the session, which will begin at 5:00 p.m. The session will be conducted by critic Hossein Moazzezinia and filmmaker Shahram Mokri, and Danesh will also attend the meeting. Ghazvinizadeh, who is currently in New York, will participate in the session via Skype. “Needle” won the first prize of the Cinéfondation Selection at Cannes Film Festival in May 2013. The 21-minute film is about young Lilly, who is going to get her ears pierced. A quarrel between her parents overwhelms the situation and directs it differently. “When the Kid Was a Kid” is a glimpse into the lives of a bunch of kids living in an apartment building, who entertain themselves by play-acting as their parents throwing a party. “Duet” tells the story of Minoo, who takes her husband, Hamed, to meet his ex-sweetheart, Sepideh. This meeting revives old memories. The film was also screened in the Cinéfondation Selection this year. “The Wind Carries Me Wherever It Wants” is a six-minute animation about the acceptance and freedom of a woman and a man and their life destinies.
