Tehran Conference a base for adoption of media policies: Moroccan minister

Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA – Moroccan Information Minister Mostafa al-Khalafi who is in Tehran to participate in the 10th Islamic Conference of Information Ministers (ICIM) underway in Tehran said the Conference is an important base for adoption of media policies to protect Islamic nations interests. Al-Khalafi, also the official spokesman of the government of Morocco, told IRNA that media cooperation between Islamic countries and implementation of agreements to be made during Tehran Conference could play a key role in supporting the Palestinian nation, as the main issue on the agenda the Conference. He accused the Zionist regime of trying to dent the global image of Islam through its propaganda and said that this puts a heavy burden on the shoulder of Islamic media. Al-Khalafi called for unity of Muslim nations and their media to thwart plots hatched by the Zionist regime and certain Western governments to spread Islamophobia across the globe. He urged Islamic states to forge a coalition of Islamic news agencies to help the establishment of peace and stability throughout the world./end
