Tehran To Host Industrial Engineering Confab

Tehran, Sept 6, IRNA - The 11th International Industrial Engineering Conference will be held at Tehran’s Milad Tower from January 7 to 8, 2015. Tarbiat Modarres University will organize the conference in collaboration with Iranˈs Institute of Industrial Engineering. The main topics of the confab are as follows: • Mathematical programming and optimization • Production planning and operations management • Quality engineering and statistical process control • Quality and productivity management • Facility location and layout • Supply chain and logistics • Project management • Organizational design and business process reengineering • Soft computing and meta heuristics. The deadline for sending articles to the secretariat of the event is September 22. Industrial engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the optimization of complex processes or systems. It is concerned with the development, improvement, implementation and evaluation of integrated systems of people, money, knowledge, information, equipment, energy, materials, analysis and synthesis. The field also deals with mathematical, physical and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering design to specify, predict and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems or processes./end
