Tehran to host Russian Cultural Festival this week

TEHRAN,Oct.14(MNA) -- Tehran will be hosting a Russian Cultural Festival, which will open tomorrow at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall. Russian Deputy Minister of Cultural Affairs Grigory Petrovic Ivliev at the head of a delegation of over 50 Russian artists and cultural figures will attend the opening ceremony. The event has been organized by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in collaboration with the Ministry for Culture of Russia, ICRO reported in a press release on Sunday. A variety of programs have been arranged during the festival, in which six top Russian films have been selected to go on screen at Milad Tower. In addition, a cinematic delegation including Russian filmmakers will be attending the film screening sessions. Moreover, the central Iranian city of Isfahan will be hosting the festival for three days from October 18 to 20. Moscow hosted an Iranian cultural festival last week where Iranian traditional handicrafts, art and traditional costumes went on display, and a selection of Iranian films went on screen, along with live music concerts.
