Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art receives birds

TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (MNA) – Saeid Kan’ani has presented Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Art with ‘Two Birds,’ a French cubist lithograph painting. ‘Two Birds,’ a lithograph by Georges Braque, French influential painter and sculptor is a work in 48 in 33 centimeters and was signed 1959. Saeid Kan’ani, an Iranian art collector who lives in the US, presented the art work to Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art with Majid Mollanowrouzi, director of the Culture Ministry's Visual Arts Bureau and head of the Museum attending the occasion. Two Birds is Braque’s later works which won his personal interest late in his life, when Braque showed much interest in nature and adorned his works with components from nature. Georges Braque (1882-1963) is an avant-garde figure in modern art and a founder of Cubism along with his colleague Pablo Picasso. More than 10 of his art works are displayed in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, among others notably ‘Guitar, Fruit and Pitcher’ (1927) and ‘Hyman’ (1957).
