Tehran Times welcomes new editor-in-chief

TEHRAN, May 04 (MNA) – In a ceremony the new editor-in-chief of Iran’s top international daily Tehran Times was introduced. In a ceremony held on Sunday afternoon in Mehr News and Tehran Times headquarter here in Tehran, Dr. Hassan Lasjerdi was introduced as the new editor-in-chief of Iran’s leading international paper, Tehran Times. He was appointed by Dr. Ali Asgari the Managing Director of Mehr News Agency and Tehran Times on April 29. Lasjerdi succeeded Dr. Morad Enadi who has recently been appointed as the managing director of Jam-e-Jam which is a highly circulated Farsi paper in Iran published by IRIB. During the ceremony, Dr. Morad Enadi was greeted by Dr. Ali Asgari for all his efforts in Tehran Times and Enadi gave his farewell address and wished his successor triumph. Tehran Times began in 1979 as an English-language newspaper to air the voice of the Islamic Revolution. The policy that the newspaper has been following has been based on the guideline set by Martyred Ayatollah Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who said: "Tehran Times is not a state-owned newspaper; rather it must be the voice of the Islamic Revolution and the oppressed people in the world.” The website of the paper at tehrantimes.com is also available to the audience outside Iran.
