Thai air force to recruit female pilots

BANGKOK, February 2 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Air Force plans to recruit female pilots within this year to first work for military transport. Thai Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Treetos Sonchaeng told journalists of the plan on Tuesday, saying that women are now recognized internationally as being capable as men. Air Chief Marshal Treetos acknowledged that female pilots are now seen in many countries, as several male pilots have left their military service to work for the civil aviation sector instead. According to the air force chief, the Royal Thai Air Force will soon seek an approval of the plan, as a pilot project over the next 2-3 years, from the Ministry of Defence before the first batch of female pilots will be recruited, expected within this year.
