Thai Armed Forces, police to support national reconciliation

BANGKOK, February 22 (TNA) - Thai Supreme Commander General Surapong Suwanna-at has asked the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Police to support national reconciliation. General Surapong made the remarks while chairing a meeting of top military and police leaders at the Royal Thai Navy Headquarters in Bangkok on Wednesday, suggesting them to cooperate with the National Administration under the Framework of National Reform, Strategy and Reconciliation, the National Reconciliation Committee and other relevant sub-committees on the issue. The supreme commander also instructed relief and mitigation centres under the Royal Thai Armed Forces to be always prepared to immediately assist people in affected areas with integrated manner and transparency, raising assistance to locals in the recently-flood-hit Thai South as an example. Besides, the supreme commander thanked the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Police for their full support in activities having organised to pay tribute to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and in sending personnel to participate in the the Cobra Gold 2017, reflecting Thailand's potential to military allied nations.
