Thai army chief to visit US in early June

BANGKOK, May 31 (TNA) - Thai army chief General Prayuth Chan O-cha is scheduled to visit the United States from June 1-10, 2013 at the invitation of his US counterpart, aimed to strengthen military ties and cooperation between the two long-time allied countries. General Prayuth told journalists on Friday that he will also study progress of the US military to be applied for further military development in Thailand. During his 10-day trip to the United States, the Thai army commander-in-chief said, he has assigned his deputy, General Dapong Rattanasuwan, to perform duties on his behalf. (TNA)
