BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - The Thai cabinet holds a two-day mobile meeting, starting Sunday, in the lower northern provinces of Phichit and Kamphaeng Phet amid tight security provided by about 1,000 policemen. Accompanied by several ministers including Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to visit several places in the two provinces during the cabinet meeting. Among them include a sugarcane pulp-powered electricity generating plant, a sugar factory in Kamphaeng Phet and visits to several government-sponsored projects. This evening, she is scheduled to attend a Regional Joint Public/Private Sector Consultative Committee meeting, to be held at Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University. Prathan Duangpatra, deputy governor of Kamphaeng Phet, said his province would seek a budget amounting 100 million baht which would be invested in agriculture, industry and tourism activities in the province during the cabinet meeting. Mr. Prathan said the province ranked second largest producer of tapioca in the country and if it became a hub for tapioca production, the province could further develop its quality. (TNA)
