Thai Defence Minister Pays Official Visit To China

BANGKOK, April 25 (TNA) - Defence Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol Suwanatat is leading Thailand's military top brass to pay an official visit to China from April 25-28, representing the country's first full military delegation trip to China in 15 years. Accompanied by Thailand's defence permanent secretary, supreme commander, armed forces chiefs, staff officers and high-ranking defence officers, Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol will meet Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, inspect Chinese weaponry and be briefed on Chinese Z-9 helicopters and submarines at the Submarine School in Qingdao city. The Thai military delegation will also meet Chinese Defence Minsiter General Liang Guanglie to discuss military affairs, intelligence cooperation and transfer of military technologies to Thailand.
