Thai DPM attends 14th Asia Security Summit in Singapore

BANGKOK, May 29 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees national security, participates in the 14th Asia Security Summit in Singapore, dubbed the IISS Shangri-la Dialogue, set from May 29-31. General Prawit, who is also Thai Defence Minister, left Bangkok for the island state on Friday morning. Speaking to journalists before his departure, the Thai deputy prime minister and defence minister said that certain ongoing issues in the region, including disputes in the South China Sea, should be raised at the meeting. According to the deputy premier and defence minister, defence ministers from about 30 countries should attend this year's Asia Security Summit. (TNA)
