BANGKOK, December 24 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees national security, is paying an official visit to Cambodia from December 24-25 to attend the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting in Phnom Penh. Accompanied by Royal Thai Armed Forces chiefs, other concerned top brass military officers and the national police chief, General Prawit, who is also Defence Minister, left Bangkok for the Cambodian capital on Wednesday morning. Agenda of the Thai-Cambodian GBC meeting include bilateral cooperation on plans to set up special economic zones in Thailand’s eastern border Trat and Sa Kaeo Provinces and preparations for the formation of the ASEAN Community (AC) by the end of 2015. The Thai-Cambodian GBC meeting will, thus, help foster bilateral ties and enhance cooperation between the two neighbouring countries' militaries.
