Thai DPM:Anti-human trafficking will be put on national agenda

BANGKOK, March 23 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan says that he will ask Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha to consider anti-human trafficking efforts as a priority on the national agenda. General Prawit told journalists of the plan on Monday, after chairing a meeting of an anti-human trafficking committee at Bangkok's Government House. General Prawit explained that including anti-human trafficking on the national agenda will enable all parties to take part in addressing human trafficking-related issues, with wrongdoers to face tough legal action. Earlier, General Prawit told the meeting that as the United States has placed Thailand in its Tier 3 watch list of countries with the alleged worst human trafficking situation, the Thai government has seriously tried to tackle the issues and the interim administration is about to report the country's progress in the efforts to the United States, in which questions on Thailand's alleged human trafficking are answered, while the Kingdom hopes Washington would remove the country from the Tier 3 watch list consequently.
